Meet the community: Marco Zamora

“Marco’s local knowledge and keen eye for detail in projects is critical to the ongoing momentum of The Ark. He has been the lead for road developments, property management, security, maintenance, and operations. During 2025, he will bring these skills into a crucial role as The ARK establishes a full-time team for both maintenance and security, which Marco will manage. His role facilitates the practical side of The Ark, and every good project has a good ‘fixer’ on hand.” Alex Wilson

Can you share a bit about your personal journey? What led you to move to Costa Rica and join The ARK?

I’m Costa Rican, and I’ve spent most of my life in Costa Rica. When the opportunity to join The ARK came up, I didn’t hesitate to accept it. The project really resonates with me because it aligns with many of the values I’ve grown up with. The ARK focuses on protecting and positively impacting the environment, which is especially meaningful to me since it’s about preserving the place I call home. It’s an idea that should be promoted more often, not only here but everywhere.

What do you hope to bring to The ARK community?

My goal at The ARK has always been to be someone who provides solutions and contributes positively with my hardworking attitude. Loyalty is a core value for me—one that I believe is crucial in the workplace, especially when times call for unity. I’m driven by the incredible people I work with at The ARK—those with big hearts. It’s an environment where kindness and strong values abound, and I feel right at home because I share that same spirit.

What excites you most about this new chapter at The ARK?

What excites me the most are the people I've met, the ones I have yet to meet, and all the learning ahead. It's inspiring to be part of a project with such a beautiful idea at its core. Every step of the journey here brings something new, and the constant learning incredible.
