Meet the community: Karla Mehlenbacher

Can you share a bit about your personal journey? Who are you? What moves you?

I’ve always been driven by a desire to help others heal. My journey into functional medicine and neurology was deeply personal, I faced a health crisis in my twenties that led me back to myself. Now, my work is about helping others reconnect with their health, their bodies, and the world around them.

What led you to move to Costa Rica and join The ARK?

The ARK offers a way of living that aligns with my values—rooted in nature, connection, and holistic well-being. The ARK drew me in as a space for deep healing and intentional community, where I can both learn and contribute.

What do you hope to bring to The ARK community? What values or passions drive you?

I believe true healing happens in community, and I’m passionate about supporting others in reconnecting with themselves (physically, mentally, and emotionally). Whether through knowledge-sharing, somatic practices, or simply holding space, I hope to bring presence, curiosity, and depth to the collective.

What excites you most about this new chapter at The ARK?

I’m excited to be part of a community that values growth, connection, and intentional living. The ARK represents a space where people are actively creating a more regenerative way of life, and I’m grateful to contribute to that vision.
